Shots Fired At Trump, Shooter Identified

The suspect in the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump has been identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh of Hawaii.

He was found armed with an assault rifle outside Trump International Golf Club while Trump was on the course. Routh frequently criticized Trump on his X (Twitter) account.

Routh managed to push the rifle through a chainlink fence but was spotted by Secret Service agents, who opened fire, prompting him to flee.

Trump was playing the fifth hole went the shots were fired. “He was able to push the muzzle of his gun through the chainlink fence outside the golf club,” authorities said. “He was 300 to 500 yards away from Trump. Secret Service spotted Routh and opened fire.”

“Routh was able to get way, but was later stopped by authorities and arrested.” He was later arrested on I-95 by local police.

He was later arrested with two backpacks and a GoPro camera; the rifle was found nearby.

“His LinkedIn shows that he attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, but relocated to Hawaii sometime around 2018,” the NY Post reported. “Routh is the owner of Camp Box Honolulu.”

The incident has raised concerns about political violence, and a task force is monitoring the investigation.
