Thomas Matthew Crooks’ parents reportedly called law enforcement in the hours leading up to the Trump rally shooting.
It’s unclear what Crooks’ parents told police, but so far, media outlets have claimed Crooks’ parents were “worried” that he was “missing.”
The parents are being cooperative with authorities and the FBI.
Crooks should have been at work on Saturday, but he reportedly told his boss that he needed the day off because he had “something to do,” according to reports.
Crooks also told his boss that he would be back at work on Sunday.
Former President Trump’s would-be assassin was shot dead by Secret Service agents after firing five rounds. Crooks hit Trump’s ear, killed firefighter Corey Comperatore, and injured two others.

Crooks’ car was found near the Trump rally with explosive inside. Crooks was holding a transmitter that is believed to have been connected to an explosive device in his car.
Crooks accessed the roof firing perch by clambering up an air conditioning unit, according to a report.
He used an AR rifle that is believed to belong to his father.
Police said Crooks purchased a ladder from a local Home Depot prior to the shooting but did not use it.
